Recommendation Letters
Recommendations are letters and forms regarding a potential new member that are sent to a sorority chapter before recruitment begins. These letters are used to learn more about a potential new member, with a focus on her high school activities and hometown involvement. Recommendations are typically written by an alumna member of the sorority receiving the missive.
Recommendation letters are not required to participate in women's recruitment at Miami University. Nevertheless, they are a great way to introduce a potential new member to a sorority before recruitment starts.
Every sorority has a slightly different recommendation process and some may have a special form that must be completed and signed. See below for more information on each chapter's recommendation process. Keep in mind, that some chapters do not utilize letters of recommendation. The Panhellenic Association will not accept letters of recommendation on the chapter's behalf. They should be sent directly to the chapter.
**There is no deadline for submitting recommendations but sending as early as possible will give each potential new member time for full consideration before recruitment starts on January 20, 2025.**
